Friendship Route of the Olympic Games Mexico 68

The Friendship Route, with its 22 monumental sculptures, is emblematic. It originates from an event that marked a change in Mexico City in both, sports and culture and is part of a unique historical moment, it is also an important sculptural heritage, worthy of being known both in Mexico, and in the world.

I witnessed its development from the beginning, as part of the organization of the Olympic Games, as well as having the fortune to know Mathias Goeritz, creator of the concept of the route.

The sculptures of the Friendship Route are being restored and most have regained new life, some of them had to be relocated and we are doing walking tours around them at the crossroads of Insurgentes Sur and Periférico.
